This is a concern that many parents share. However, based on sleep experts and our own experience, there is no such risk. White noise can easily be phased out when your baby is ready, for example by gradually lowering the volume night after night. It is worth noting that white noise masks other sounds so your baby will be less likely to wake up as a result of other noises in the room. In this case it also works as a barrier to other noise. In fact, many adults use white noise to help them sleep at night, especially if they live in a noisy area.
